Busselton 70.3
Another Race but a better result..
The plan was to try and swim at or near the front and hopefully get a gap on the boys if i could.
Turns out i had the strongest swim of the day and lead the swim out in 23:22..... Big shout out to the team at blueseventy, the Helix is definitely helping me swim like a dolphin on a sugar rush!!
After a quick transition i was on the bike an straight to race pace...
Now here i had an issue.. sit back and wait for a pack of 10+ guys to catch me ... or just go?.... " i went "
I felt good on my new bike the "Ceepo Viper" and really felt like all those TT i have been doing were paying off... I was pushing hard and trying to maintain an effort which wasn't going to totally kill me for the run..
Entering T2 i had 2:30 on two guys and 3mins on the main pack ...
I managed the fastest Pro bike split of the day on my Ceepo Viper and riding my totally awesome Rolf Prima wheel set.
I really needed 5 mins off the bike and a 1:20 run to guarantee a podium finish..... however a 1:23 half was all i had in me today...turns out i didnt pack my 1:20 legs.... i always forget something , But usually it's a racebelt or timing band.... bugger!!
Tough day , but a good day... i have no complaints.... i'm very excited about the year ahead.... This race caps off 1 year as a professional .. almost to the day....
Many thanks to all my sponsors and supporter old and new.... your all legends... We're getting closer by the race....
Cheers
Guy
